South Korean actor Kim Yoon Sik has become one of Asia’s fastest-rising stars following the success of the hit BL (boys’ love) drama The Prosecutor’s Proposal.
Once a little-known actor who spent years auditioning for supporting roles, Kim Yoon Sik has now captured audiences across Asia with his compelling performance, striking visuals, and inspiring personal story of overcoming Tourette syndrome.
Kim Yoon Sik and co-star Park Si Woo recently appeared on the cover of Madame Figaro Hommes China, reflecting the drama’s growing popularity among Chinese audiences.

Despite ongoing limitations affecting Korean entertainment promotions in China, the magazine reportedly sold 32,000 copies within one minute of release and generated 22.6 million yuan in sales during its first day. The release also sparked massive online discussion, with related topics attracting nearly 100 million views and more than 100,000 comments, highlighting the pair’s growing influence.
Born in 1998, Kim Yoon Sik stands approximately 1.87 meters (6’2″) tall and studied Theater at Dongguk University. He made his acting debut in 2018 as the lead of the web drama MU:D Vol. 1 before taking supporting and guest roles in productions including: Trade Your Love, Hospital Playlist 2, Twenty-Five Twenty-One and I Am a Running Mate. He also appeared as a model in several K-pop music videos.
Before adopting his real name in 2024, Kim Yoon Sik promoted under the stage name Yoon Do Gun. Although he worked steadily for years, mainstream recognition remained elusive until 2026, when The Prosecutor’s Proposal transformed his career.

The Prosecutor’s Proposal tells the story of prosecutor Ju Tae Seon (Kim Yoon Sik) and investigator Lee Chae Ha (Park Si Woo), whose families are bound by a tragic past. Ju Tae Seon’s father was murdered, while Lee Chae Ha’s father was identified as the killer.
