Yumi’s Cells Season 3 concluded on a joyful note, with Kim Go Eun and Kim Jae Won’s characters walking down the aisle in a heartwarming finale.
Episodes 7 and 8, released on May 4, marked the final chapter of the series. Yumi (Kim Go Eun) and Soonrok (Kim Jae Won), who had become a couple, ultimately celebrated their love with a wedding, delivering a happy ending.
In the final episodes, Yumi accepted Soonrok’s second confession, officially beginning their relationship. Their romance quickly turned sweet and affectionate, with Soonrok even changing how he addressed her from the formal “writer” to the more personal “noona.” From the very first day of dating, the couple shared tender moments, even breaking their own rule of “no physical affection within a 1km radius of the publishing house and studio.” When their secret relationship caused issues during a trip, Soonrok openly confessed their romance to editor Daeyong, played by Jeon Seok Ho, proving that nothing mattered more to him than Yumi.

Soonrok later proposed to Yumi. When she questioned how he could be so certain after such a short time together, he responded that if he hadn’t been sure, he wouldn’t have sought her out again to confess. His sincerity, combined with the fact that he had never felt this way before, added emotional depth to the story. Yumi’s realization nthat every love is different and cannot be measured by past experiences highlighted her growth and left a lasting impression on viewers.
Returning after four years, the series proved its strong popularity by ranking No.1 in weekly paid subscriber contributions on TVING for three consecutive weeks. Episode 7, aired on tvN, also secured the top spot in its time slot among cable and general programming channels, according to Nielsen Korea.

The drama has also seen strong international success. In its second week of release, it ranked No.1 for two consecutive weeks on Rakuten Viki across regions including the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania. It also topped Mongolia’s Inche TV for two weeks and ranked No.3 on Disney+ Japan during the same period.
Yumi’s Cells Season 3 follows the story of Yumi, now a successful writer, whose quiet life is shaken by an unexpected encounter that leads her to laugh, cry, and fall in love once again. The series is based on the popular webtoon of the same name and is available in full on TVING, with its final episode also airing on tvN.
