Global pop star Sam Smith is reportedly engaged to their longtime partner, fashion designer Christian Cowan, after more than three years of dating.
According to U.S. entertainment outlet Page Six, the couple attended the Met Gala 2026 together on May 4 (local time), where signs of their engagement were reportedly noticed.
Before stepping onto the red carpet, the two were seen at New York’s Mark Hotel discussing what insiders described as engagement-related matters, further fueling speculation.
Christian Cowan dressed Sam Smith in a striking black couture outfit inspired by the legendary artist Erté, presenting a coordinated couple look that quickly drew attention.
What truly caught the public eye, however, was a bold square yellow diamond ring believed to be a Cartier piece worn by Cowan, hinting strongly at their engagement.
An insider shared: “The engagement was kept private, but they looked incredibly happy and deeply in love.”
Following the event, Sam Smith took to social media to showcase their outfits and express admiration for Cowan’s artistry.
