Veteran Host Breaks Silence on Rumors He Cut Ties With Dee Hsu Over Her Controversial Ex
Jacky Wu denies rumors that he cut ties with Dee Hsu, calling the speculation a “huge misunderstanding” and emphasizing his affection for her.
Veteran Taiwanese host Jacky Wu has spoken out about rumors that he cut ties with Dee Hsu, the younger sister of the late Barbie Hsu and sister-in-law of CLON’s Koo Jun Yup.
According to local media outlets including China’s Sohu News, Jacky Wu addressed the speculation surrounding his relationship with Dee Hsu on September 19, calling it “a huge misunderstanding.”
The rumors stemmed in part from comments Jacky Wu previously made about Dee Hsu’s past relationship with Mickey Huang. He had remarked, “Who told her to date someone with such bad conduct like Mickey Huang?” Huang, once a popular Taiwanese television host, publicly dated Dee Hsu from the late 1990s to the early 2000s. Their relationship ended after Huang became involved with actress Bowie Tsang, who had been a close friend of Dee Hsu. The former couple appeared to reconcile in 2015 when Huang appeared on the popular variety show Kangsi Coming, hosted by Dee Hsu. However, Huang later faced allegations in 2023 involving the sexual abuse of a minor and possession of child sexual abuse material, effectively ending his career in the entertainment industry.
Explaining what happened, Jacky Wu said, “At the time, Dee Hsu asked my daughter on a broadcast, ‘Did your father really tell you not to associate with the children in our family?’ My daughter answered, ‘I don’t know.’ So I was simply responding through the broadcast to what Dee Hsu had said.”
He went on to emphasize his long-standing affection for both Barbie Hsu and Dee Hsu. “I worked with Barbie Hsu and Dee Hsu for more than a decade. How could I not love them? That would be absolutely impossible. When have I ever said anything bad about them? I love Dee Hsu,” he said, firmly denying that he had cut ties with her.
