On August 10, Beatrice Fang personally shared a statement on her social media account, announcing that the couple had decided to end their marriage after years together.
In her statement, Beatrice Fang expressed gratitude for the 11 years they spent supporting and caring for each other. She wrote that love can take many different forms and thanked Yang Ming-wei for helping her become a more mature person and enriching her life experiences.
Although they could no longer remain romantic partners, Beatrice Fang emphasized that they would remain a family forever, particularly as they share two children. She explained that the divorce was reached after extensive conversations and careful consideration, stressing that it was a decision made peacefully and mutually by both parties.
Beatrice Fang also asked the public to respect their privacy, saying that the reasons for their separation belonged to the past and that they had decided to keep those matters between themselves. She asked the public to give the family the necessary time and space and said neither party would make further public comments or respond to speculation about the reasons for their divorce.
Yang Ming-wei released a similar statement on the same day, expressing his gratitude for the years they had spent supporting, accepting and dedicating themselves to one another.
