According to a report from MyDaily, Signal 2 has been scheduled as tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama beginning November 30, with the eight-episode series airing through December 22.
The sequel was originally planned to celebrate tvN’s 20th anniversary with a mid-2026 release. However, the broadcast was indefinitely postponed following controversy involving lead actor Cho Jin Woong. Earlier this year, tvN publicly stated that the drama’s broadcast schedule remained undecided.

The report also claims that the production team has decided not to remove or digitally alter Cho Jin Woong’s scenes. Following the controversy surrounding the actor’s past juvenile criminal record, the production reportedly explored several options, including AI-assisted editing and reducing his screen time. Ultimately, the team allegedly chose to release the series with his performance intact.
Cho Jin Woong previously acknowledged wrongdoing during his youth through his agency, stating that he had committed offenses as a minor more than 30 years ago. The agency apologized while noting that reconstructing every detail after so many years was difficult because the legal proceedings had long since concluded.
Signal 2 is the sequel to the 2016 hit drama Signal, which follows detectives from the past and present communicating through a mysterious radio to solve long-unsolved cold cases. The original series became one of tvN’s most celebrated crime dramas and concluded with a nationwide viewership rating of 13.4%, according to Nielsen Korea.
The sequel reunites the original lead cast: Lee Je Hoon, Kim Hye Soo and Cho Jin Woong. Acclaimed screenwriter Kim Eun Hee returns to pen the sequel, while Ahn Tae Jin serves as director.
Production on Signal 2 reportedly wrapped in August 2025, with the drama initially targeting an early 2026 release. However, the schedule was put on hold after revelations regarding Jo Jin Woong’s past triggered widespread controversy. In April, tvN officially stated that the drama’s broadcast schedule remained undecided while it reviewed its options.
According to MyDaily’s latest report, the network has now decided to move forward with a November 30 premiere, though tvN has not yet officially confirmed the new broadcast date.
