Lee So Ra is officially returning to the music scene with her first new single in seven years, exciting longtime fans who have waited years to hear new solo music from the legendary vocalist.
On June 29, her agency, Marehim Entertainment, confirmed that Lee So Ra will release a brand-new song in July. The upcoming track will mark her first official music release since her 2019 single “Request Song,” which featured BTS member Suga and achieved major success on domestic and international music charts.
Since then, Lee So Ra has mainly participated in drama soundtracks, quietly staying active while focusing on OST projects. However, fans have continued hoping for a proper solo comeback under her own name.
According to The Chosun, ahead of the release, the singer shared a heartfelt message through her agency.
“It’s been a long time since my last release, and I hope many people will listen to it,” Lee So Ra said. “I sincerely thank everyone who has been waiting, and I promise to sing more in the future.”
Lee So Ra to Release New Single in July
Her announcement quickly became a hot topic among music fans in South Korea, especially because Lee So Ra is widely respected for her emotional singing style and distinctive vocal tone. Many listeners grew up with her music and consider her one of the country’s most influential female vocalists.
Lee So Ra first debuted in 1993 as part of the vocal group Strangers before beginning her solo career in 1995, AllKPop reported.
Over the years, she built a successful catalog filled with beloved songs, including “I’m Happy,” “Proposal,” “Blue in You,” “Please,” “Don’t Leave My Side,” “Remember,” and “A Wind Blows.”
Her 2019 release “Request Song” was especially memorable for younger fans because of its collaboration with Suga. The song received strong chart results and introduced Lee So Ra’s emotional music style to many newer K-pop listeners.
According to Marehim Entertainment, Lee So Ra’s new single will be released through online music platforms sometime in July.
