Step inside Jing Boran’s 400-square-meter Beijing duplex, a masculine minimalist home filled with designer furniture, art, concrete, and custom details.
Chinese actor Jing Boran lives in a spacious duplex apartment in Beijing covering approximately 400 square meters.
The most striking feature of the home is its minimalist aesthetic. Exposed concrete walls, cool gray tones, a restrained color palette, and carefully planned lighting give the residence the atmosphere of a contemporary art space rather than a conventional family home.
One of Jing Boran’s favorite pieces is his Flexform sofa. In front of it sits a moon-shaped coffee table from the Diesel and Moroso collaboration, paired with an eclipse-patterned rug underneath. A work by young artist Chen Zhuo is also displayed on the wall, adding another artistic touch to the living area.
Jing Boran has previously revealed that he was deeply involved in selecting furnishings and shaping the overall design of his home.
The duplex places particular emphasis on materials, color, lighting, and thoughtful design. Jing Boran is especially drawn to natural materials, neutral shades, and furniture pieces with distinctive design characteristics.
In an interview with Sohu, Jing Boran revealed that he spent considerable time researching furniture and color combinations. His attention to detail even led him to bring a rug back from Japan specifically to decorate the apartment.
Jing Boran himself once described the residence as an apartment designed for a single man, reflecting his desire to move away from conventional home layouts and instead create a space entirely shaped around his personal tastes and lifestyle.
The dining room was originally a kitchen before being renovated and given a new purpose. It now connects naturally with the living room and open kitchen, creating a more fluid communal space.
The dining table was designed by Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek. Jing Boran displays various ceramic pieces collected during his travels on the table, reflecting his particular fondness for French ceramics from Astier de Villatte. A gold-toned pendant light and chairs from Vitra and Fritz Hansen add warmth to the otherwise restrained interior.
According to some Chinese media reports, Jing Boran’s approximately 400-square-meter Beijing duplex has been valued at more than 37 million yuan.
The staircase leading to the second floor was another area that received special attention from the actor. While the first floor is dominated by concrete, gray surfaces, and metal, the staircase incorporates tea-colored glass and gold handrails, softening the overall atmosphere.
A skylight and glass panels above the staircase allow natural sunlight to filter into the space. This architectural detail helps give the second floor a noticeably different feeling from the cooler, more industrial aesthetic downstairs.
One corner of the home serves as a workspace and reading area, where Jing Boran created a warmer atmosphere with wooden flooring and abundant natural light.
A Cassina desk, Fritz Hansen chair, black spherical pendant lamp from Gubi, and dark shelving create an artistic working environment. Jing Boran once planned to add a sun-filled garden with greenery opposite the desk, giving him a peaceful place to read, write, or draw.
For the bedroom, Jing Boran selected a “mushroom” color palette—a muted neutral shade blending gray and brown. The subdued tones create a calm, quiet atmosphere suited to rest and relaxation.
He selected the upholstered bed from a furniture store in Shanghai. It is accompanied by a wooden bedside table, a white armchair, a black lamp, and accessories from Loewe.
Jing Boran has also revealed that bedding is particularly important to him. When traveling away from home for extended periods, he will even bring along his preferred bedding to make himself more comfortable.
Another standout feature is the large custom-designed wardrobe system built to accommodate his clothing, shoes, and accessories. The interior includes integrated lighting, with some areas equipped with motion sensors that automatically turn the lights on as he approaches.
A playful Pony chair provides an unexpected accent in the otherwise masculine and minimalist room. A work by Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki is also displayed on the wall.
The dressing room sits between the hallway and bedroom and uses caramel tones, creating a smooth visual transition from the home’s cooler gray palette to warmer shades of brown.
The bathroom adjoining the bedroom maintains the apartment’s industrial character, combining terrazzo surfaces with metallic details.
Faucets, waste bins, towel baskets, and storage containers all emphasize metallic materials and finishes, helping maintain a consistent visual language throughout the residence.
Born in 1989, Jing Boran began his entertainment career as a singer before establishing himself as an actor. His personal life has also attracted public attention over the years, including his past relationship with actress Ni Ni and his relationship with model Liu Wen.
