The artist at the center of the controversy is Megan, a member of HYBE and Geffen Records’ global girl group KATSEYE.
The group is currently embarking on its first world tour and performed in Paris on September 9. As part of their regular concert routine, the members leave the stage during “Timelapse” and walk through sections of the audience, giving fans an opportunity to interact with them up close.
Although the performance has been carried out in a similar manner at previous stops, the Paris concert reportedly took an uncomfortable turn when several members appeared to experience inappropriate physical contact from people in the crowd. Some circulating clips also appeared to show someone pulling Daniela’s hair.
Other footage showed Megan looking visibly uncomfortable after an audience member appeared to touch her while she was making her way through the crowd.
Following the concert, Megan addressed what happened and revealed that someone had grabbed her chest while she was walking among the audience. Rather than responding aggressively, she calmly called attention to the incident and reminded fans to be respectful and mindful during the interactive portion of the show.
Megan’s comments have sparked widespread outrage among KATSEYE fans, with many condemning the behavior and questioning whether artists should continue interacting so closely with audiences if adequate security measures cannot guarantee their safety.
