On May 16, Chinese media outlet 163 reported that Ming Xi’s rising status within the Macau casino family has become a hot topic online. According to reports, the model has officially become involved in the family’s business operations after being appointed director of several companies owned by her mother-in-law, billionaire Leong On Kei.
Most recently, Ming Xi and Leong On Kei reportedly spent nearly HK$170 million to purchase three luxury apartments located on the same floor in Hong Kong’s Mid-Levels district. The properties have allegedly been entrusted to Ming Xi for management and business operations, with the supermodel also receiving any future profits generated from them.

Previously, at the end of 2022, Ming Xi was reportedly included on the list of successors for Leong On Kei’s private fortune, estimated at US$3.2 billion. In March 2024, the Victoria’s Secret model also received a cargo ship worth HK$4.6 billion as a gift from the casino family for her 35th birthday. Profits generated from the ship’s operations are said to be transferred directly into her personal account. Becoming a company director and receiving massive assets from her in-laws reportedly reflects the immense trust and affection Ming Xi now receives from her billionaire mother-in-law and the powerful casino family.
After rising to a major position within the business empire, Ming Xi was recently spotted eating at a roadside restaurant alongside her husband Mario Ho. Closely accompanying the wealthy couple, whose family assets reportedly exceed HK$50 billion, was a large foreign bodyguard.

According to On, members of the casino dynasty are required to have at least one bodyguard accompanying them whenever they go out for security reasons. The trusted foreign bodyguard protecting Ming Xi and Mario Ho has reportedly worked with the couple for many years. Sources claimed the couple even treats the bodyguard like a friend, with the employee dining alongside them wherever they eat.
From enduring humiliation while trying to enter the casino family to now living a luxurious life, Ming Xi’s journey has drawn significant public attention.

Mario Ho and Ming Xi officially registered their marriage in 2019. The supermodel previously admitted that their relationship was far from easy. From the beginning of their romance until marriage, the couple faced numerous prejudices due to differences in age and family background.
Ming Xi revealed that she was once looked down upon by Leong On Kei during their very first meeting because the model’s family background was considered unequal to the wealthy casino dynasty. According to Ming Xi, she carefully prepared both her appearance and gifts before meeting Mario Ho’s mother. However, when they finally met, Leong On Kei reportedly maintained a cold expression, offering neither a smile nor a response to the model’s greeting.

The Victoria’s Secret model shared that her future mother-in-law’s attitude left her extremely embarrassed. She quietly sat to the side while Leong On Kei and Mario Ho discussed company matters. After the meeting ended, Ming Xi reportedly burst into tears due to feeling deeply hurt and humiliated.
The model even considered breaking up with Mario Ho because she believed she would never receive approval from his family. Mario Ho later comforted and encouraged her to continue proving both herself and the sincerity of their relationship.

According to Chinese media reports, Leong On Kei only fully accepted Ming Xi after the model gave birth to a son, helping Mario Ho’s branch of the family secure a larger portion of the late casino tycoon Stanley Ho’s inheritance.
After marrying into the wealthy family, Ming Xi reportedly earned greater trust from her mother-in-law thanks to her financial independence, ability to expand the family’s public image through her entertainment career, and her obedient and hardworking personality.

The supermodel, born in 1989, reportedly receives HK$2 million in monthly allowance money. During a livestream in 2023, Ming Xi stated that her family exclusively shops for luxury goods and high-end brands. Because she gave birth to both a son and daughter — especially a male heir for the fifth generation of the casino family — she was reportedly rewarded with multiple lavish properties.
Her late father-in-law Stanley Ho allegedly gifted her a mansion worth over HK$300 million, while Leong On Kei gave her a luxury apartment. In addition, Mario Ho reportedly transferred ownership of a HK$500 million villa into his wife’s name.
