TWICE’s Nayeon and Brazilian DJ-producer Alok have taken their new collaboration “Bye Bye Inhibitions” from streaming platforms to the festival stage, performing the track together for the first time at EDC Korea.
Nayeon made a surprise appearance during Alok’s set at the 2026 Electric Daisy Carnival Korea on Sunday, October 4, at Inspire Resort in Incheon. The performance came two days after “Bye Bye Inhibitions” was released worldwide on October 2.
The moment marked the first time Nayeon and Alok performed the song together in front of an audience. It was not, however, the track’s first festival play: Alok had already previewed “Bye Bye Inhibitions” during his September 11 performance on Rock in Rio’s Palco Mundo stage in Brazil, using Nayeon’s recorded vocals.
Nayeon and Alok Take Their Collaboration to the EDC Korea Stage
“Bye Bye Inhibitions” arrived at midnight in each market on October 2, combining Alok’s electronic production with Nayeon’s polished pop vocals. The dance-pop track is built around a message of letting go of reservations, enjoying the moment and expressing yourself on the dance floor.
The release was designed with a festival setting in mind, making EDC Korea a natural next step. Nayeon joined Alok onstage during his festival set rather than performing a separate headline show, turning what had previously been a recording-based collaboration into their first shared live performance.
Reports published after the festival confirmed that Nayeon’s appearance had been presented as a surprise. The performance also completed a three-step rollout for the single: Alok’s September preview at Rock in Rio, the October 2 digital release and the artists’ October 4 joint debut at EDC Korea.
The single has since appeared on iTunes Top Songs charts in multiple markets, including Brazil, Mexico, Turkey and Thailand, according to JYP Entertainment.
‘Bye Bye Inhibitions’ Expands Nayeon’s Solo Work Beyond TWICE
For Nayeon, the Alok collaboration adds an electronic-festival setting to the individual career she has developed alongside TWICE.
She became the first TWICE member to release a solo project with IM NAYEON in June 2022. Led by “POP!,” the mini-album reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200, a milestone JYP Entertainment later highlighted while announcing her second solo release.
Her second mini-album, NA, followed on June 14, 2024. Its title track, “ABCD,” drew from early-2000s pop while incorporating hip-hop and contemporary elements. The seven-track project also included collaborations with Sam Kim on “Heaven” and KISS OF LIFE’s Julie on “Magic,” while AKMU’s Lee Chanhyuk produced “HalliGalli.”
Those collaborations established outside creative partnerships as part of Nayeon’s solo catalog, but “Bye Bye Inhibitions” places her in a distinctly different musical environment. Instead of a conventional K-pop album collaboration, the single pairs her voice with a Brazilian electronic artist whose large-scale festival performances are central to his work.
Nayeon Is Also Building a New Direct Connection With Fans
Nayeon has recently expanded her individual presence beyond recorded music by opening her personal YouTube channel, “IM NAYEON.” Early uploads have included choreography content for “MEEEEEE (NAYEON),” her solo track connected to TWICE’s TEN: The Story Goes On project.
That activity gives fans another way to follow the individual side of her career while she remains active as a member of TWICE. “Bye Bye Inhibitions,” meanwhile, introduces Nayeon to another audience through Alok’s electronic-music world and a festival stage outside the group’s usual presentation.
For listeners discovering her through the collaboration, IM NAYEON and NA remain the clearest entry points into her established solo catalog. The Alok single broadens that catalog without suggesting a larger joint project or tour.
With the EDC Korea performance now completed, the collaboration has moved beyond its announcement phase. What began as a Rock in Rio preview became an official October 2 release and, two days later, the first onstage meeting between Nayeon and Alok for “Bye Bye Inhibitions.”
