The producers of I Live Alone have responded to new allegations of manipulation in one of their recent broadcasts.
Previously, on the October 2nd broadcast, Kim Min revealed his daily life living in a roughly 90-year-old house located in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi Province. The footage showed him operating a generator himself, repairing the old floor with cement, and grilling meat over a wood fire.

However, after the broadcast, suspicions arose online that the lifestyle shown might have been staged for filming. One netizen revealed images of the house from Street View, claiming differences from the space depicted in the broadcast.
Doubts were also raised about why a generator was used despite the presence of utility poles and electric wires around the house.
The controversy has since expanded to include issues surrounding some people’s actions of visiting Kim Min’s residence in person. While there are criticisms that tracking his actual home under the pretext of verifying broadcast content is excessive, it is reported that the number of people visiting Kim Min’s house has increased, raising concerns about privacy invasion.

In response, the production team issued a statement denying any manipulation or staging.
The I Live Alone team stated on the 7th, “The house of actor Kim Min shown on the broadcast is indeed his actual residence. There was no direction or staging by the production team.”
Regarding the use of a generator, they explained, “It is used because there is no electricity coming in.” They added, “We wanted to show how he lives according to the condition of the house,” and reiterated, “Nothing was staged or fabricated for filming.”
This is not the first time I Live Alone has been accused of staged filming. Recently, controversy erupted after Jun Hyun Moo appeared to have taken a spontaneous trip to Kazakhstan, but things didn’t add up according to netizens.
