Videos of a family, who appeared on popular variety show The Return Of Superman, cheering at dawn during the World Cup has sparked controversy.
On July 8th, Lee Dong Gook’s wife, Lee Su Jin, shared videos on her social media account showing their family watching the Round of 16 match between Argentina and Egypt at the 2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup.
The videos show the family gathered in the living room watching the game.

According to one of the videos, it was filmed at 3 a.m., and when Lionel Messi scored, their daughter shouted loudly, “That’s crazy!” Their son, Si An, also got very excited, shouting and running around the house. He even fired a toy gun at the ceiling.

In another video, the family can be seen cheering loudly after Argentina scored an additional goal.
Their daughter was unable to contain her excitement, covered in a blanket, while Si An jumped off the sofa and rolled on the floor. Seeing the children, Lee Su Jin smiled and only said, “Don’t stomp so hard,” without strongly stopping them.

After the videos were released, many online commenters pointed out that such loud noises and jumping at dawn could disturb the neighbors. However, the family has not yet responded to the matter.
Lee Dong Gook married Lee Su Jin, a former Miss Korea, in 2005. They have four daughters and one son. The family appeared in the past on KBS 2TV’s parenting reality show The Return of Superman.
