T-ARA’s Hyomin Reveals Why She Married Husband 10 Years Older: “I Didn’t Want Anyone Else to Have Him”
T-ARA’s Hyomin reveals why she decided to marry her husband, a finance professional 10 years older, after initially having little interest in marriage.
On September 15, Hyomin appeared on actress Go So Young’s YouTube channel and recalled meeting her husband at an acquaintance’s birthday gathering.
She said she first noticed his voice when he arrived late and apologized. After they began talking, Hyomin assumed he was only four or five years older, but later discovered their actual 10-year age gap.
Hyomin also admitted that marriage was not originally a major priority for her.
“Honestly, I didn’t really have strong thoughts about marriage,” she said.
However, her feelings changed as their relationship became serious. About six months into dating, she began wondering what she would do if marriage came up.
Her eventual realization was simple. “But I didn’t want to give him to someone else either, so I thought, ‘Ah, I guess I’m going to get married.’”
Hyomin married her non-celebrity husband in April 2025. He is reportedly a finance professional who graduated from Seoul National University’s Department of Industrial Engineering and works as an executive at the Korean office of a global private equity firm.
