Son Ye Jin reveals why she always covers husband Hyun Bin’s face with stickers in her social media photos and shares details about their family life.
On September 17, Netflix Korea released a video featuring Son Ye Jin, Ji Chang Wook, and Nana, the stars of the Netflix series The Scandal.
Speaking about how she has been spending her time lately, Son Ye Jin said with a laugh, “These days, I’ve been raising my child. I’m taking a break and not working on any projects right now, but raising a child is actually harder.”
When asked about her happiest recent moment, Son Ye Jin chose traveling with her family. “We went to Okinawa, and we also traveled to the United States. We went on vacation after I finished working on my project,” she shared.
However, she admitted that traveling with a child is not exactly a relaxing vacation. “When you travel with a child, it’s not really a trip where you get to rest. We made a very packed schedule centered entirely around our child,” she explained. “It’s exhausting, but I think traveling together as a family is genuinely so happy.” She jokingly added, “When I fall asleep, they wake me up.”
Son Ye Jin also shared a funny story involving Hyun Bin and her social media posts. Explaining why she puts stickers over her husband’s face whenever she uploads photos featuring him, she said, “I was just like, ‘Can’t I simply post it?’ But he asked me to cover his face, so I always do,” drawing laughter.
The actress also explained why she recently created a secondary Instagram account. “We already share a lot of things officially, so I wanted somewhere to post other fun, everyday moments,” she said. “Rather than uploading things that are overly polished and pretty, I wanted to share something more natural and entertaining.”
She continued, “These days, people have things like alternate personas, so I thought, ‘Should I try it just for fun?’ But even that ended up becoming news, so I realized I couldn’t really do whatever I wanted.” She admitted, “At first, I wanted to post everything freely, but I gradually started holding back.”
Meanwhile, Son Ye Jin married Hyun Bin in 2022, and the couple welcomed their son later that same year.
Son Ye Jin’s upcoming Netflix series The Scandal follows Lady Cho (Son Ye Jin), a woman whose extraordinary talents are constrained by the expectations placed on women during the Joseon era, and Cho Won (Ji Chang Wook), known as Joseon’s greatest playboy, as they embark on a dangerous wager involving love. Hui Yeon (Nana) becomes entangled in their provocative game. The series is set to premiere on September 18 at 5 p.m.
