Former Jewelry member Seo In Young has once again denied a long-standing rumor that she physically assaulted singer IU. Recalling the bizarre allegations that once circulated throughout the entertainment industry, she emphasized that the two were not even close.
On October 7, a new video featuring singer Baek Ji Young as a guest was uploaded to Seo In Young’s YouTube channel. During their conversation, Baek Ji Young brought up a past disagreement between them in a waiting room and reflected on a time when both singers were known for their strong personalities. “You had a tough image, and so did I. But when you think about it, you’ve never really gone around scolding people, have you?” she said. “Neither of us ever bullied our juniors.”
Seo In Young then addressed the old rumor involving IU. “There was a rumor that I had beaten up IU,” she recalled. “People were saying that I dragged her into a bathroom and assaulted her. Why on earth would I hit her?” The singer expressed frustration over the completely unfounded allegation.
Clarifying her actual relationship with IU, Seo In Young explained, “I wasn’t close to IU.” Baek Ji Young jokingly responded, “Maybe you hit her because you weren’t close,” prompting an incredulous reaction from Seo In Young. She then reflected on other misunderstandings from her career, saying, “A lot of things happened to me. I even thought Narsha was younger than me.” She recalled the awkward misunderstanding that arose when she eventually discovered Narsha’s actual age.
