On July 7, Ravi made a surprise appearance in a group chat where his fans regularly gather, leaving a heartfelt message. “Is everyone doing well and staying healthy? I’m worried that this sudden greeting might stir up feelings you had carefully buried away,” he wrote.
He continued, “Over such a long period of time, I know so many different emotions must have built up and become tangled in your hearts. I can’t presume to fully understand what you’ve been through, so it’s been difficult to figure out what I should say. But I also felt that if I kept letting time pass because of that uncertainty, I would regret it, so I decided to leave this message. I greeted you through Dust, but I felt that was different from writing to you directly.” Ravi added, “What I really want to say is that I miss you all so much. I hope every one of you has been healthy and doing well.”
Ravi also hinted that he hopes to meet fans again in the near future. “I’ll work hard on the things I can do so that the day we meet again can come. I’m always sincerely grateful,” he said.
Ravi was convicted in 2022 for his involvement in a military service evasion scandal. He received a sentence of one year in prison, suspended for two years, after being found guilty of conspiring with a military service broker to falsely claim he suffered from epilepsy in order to evade mandatory military duty. Following the controversy, Ravi withdrew from all television programs he had been appearing on and voluntarily left VIXX.
It was not until three years later that Ravi cautiously shared an update about his life. On December 13, 2025, after completing his military service, he wrote, “Throughout this process, I had time to reflect on myself. I realized how ashamed I was for seeking understanding by using my personal circumstances and environment as excuses instead of holding myself accountable. I also learned that cowardly choices can hurt and negatively affect others. I sincerely apologize once again to everyone who was hurt by my actions. From now on, I will continue learning and working on myself so I can become a better person.” More recently, Ravi officially returned to music with the release of his new digital single, Dust.
