Recently, an international fan shared her story on social media about traveling to Chicago with her mother, who is living with dementia, to attend a BTS concert.
According to the daughter, her mother has gradually been losing memories of everyday life, but she still remembered Jimin’s name. Wanting to share a meaningful experience connected to one of the memories her mother treasured, the daughter purchased concert tickets and set off on the trip with her.
In a video she shared, the daughter told her mother, “Mom, I bought tickets so we can go see Jimin,” prompting her mother to react with visible excitement and happiness.
The daughter said that even during the flight, her mother repeatedly sang and said, “I’m going to see my Jimin,” as if she were looking forward to the trip.
However, after the video was filmed, her mother asked again where Jimin was and why they needed their luggage. The daughter explained, “Mom remembers Jimin, but she doesn’t remember where we’re going or why we’re taking a plane.”
Even as her memories continued to fade, Jimin remained a special presence in her mother’s heart.
The daughter eventually attended the Chicago concert with her mother, where they participated as VIP guests. In addition to watching the concert, they also visited the pop-up store, where the daughter purchased new Jimin-related merchandise to display in her mother’s bedroom.
Photos shared alongside the story showed her mother wearing a T-shirt with Jimin’s name on it and smiling brightly, warming the hearts of those who saw the images.
The daughter also expressed her gratitude for the precious moments she was able to share with her mother during the trip. “I don’t know how I could ever repay Jimin for these little moments I’ve been able to have with my mom,” she wrote.
The story of a mother whose memories are gradually fading but who still remembers Jimin’s name, along with a daughter who gave her the special gift of seeing her favorite star, has moved many BTS fans and created an especially touching moment.
