A Love Other Than Yours has just premiered and is already receiving its first reactions from viewers. The drama did not make a particularly strong impression in terms of ratings, with its first episode recording 2.9%. However, the response from those who have watched it has been relatively positive, especially regarding the storyline and the cast’s performances.

At present, A Love Other Than Yours has received a rating of 8.3 on MyDramaList. Notably, many viewers in the comments said that the drama’s central couple reminded them of Luan Nian/Luke and Shang Zhitao/Flora, the pairing from The Early Spring that has attracted considerable attention recently.

The comparison may stem from several similarities between the two couples. The main pair in A Love Other Than Yours share bold intimate scenes and demonstrate strong chemistry. In addition, the male lead is portrayed as having a relatively stable career, while the female lead struggles with work-related difficulties and feelings of insecurity—elements that also bear some resemblance to The Early Spring.

However, not every viewer agreed with the comparison. Some argued that the character development and storyline of A Love Other Than Yours are very different from those of the Chinese drama. As a result, they felt that comparing the two couples after only the first few episodes was premature.

Several comments on MyDramaList included:
“This drama gives me the same feeling as the Japanese series Then You Try Making It!. That was such a good and refreshing show. This drama is giving me a similar feeling, and I really hope it doesn’t become a Korean version of it because the dramatic elements would probably be intense. I also couldn’t find any information saying that this is a remake of the Japanese series.”

“It has the comforting feeling of dramas from the 2010s. The acting, the struggles of life and careers in your 20s, and the way the drama is filmed are all beautiful. It’s the perfect autumn drama. I’m really curious about the female lead’s journey. Seo Kang Joon is also showing his charm very well.”
“I’m like, ‘Oh my God, here we go with another version of Luke and Flora.’ Why did I start watching this so early? The finale won’t air until November, so now I have to wait forever.”
“Wait, the final episode won’t air until November… NOVEMBER? Why did I start watching the first episode? Within the first few minutes, I was already thinking, ‘What is happening to Luke and Flora?’”
“Hmm, it does remind me of The Early Spring. But I really don’t want this story to resemble Luke and Flora at all. There’s too much psychological manipulation and toxicity, and that’s not my cup of tea.”
“The first episode was nothing like Luke and Flora at all! What are these comments talking about?”
“Just as I expected, they’ve already broken up. SO THERE’S NO CHEATING—I repeat, NO CHEATING. We’ll gradually learn more about their past and present as the story unfolds. I’m already completely invested in their chemistry.”
As for the plot, A Love Other Than Yours tells a realistic love story centered on a couple who have been together for more than 10 years and are standing at a crossroads in their relationship as they consider marriage. The arrival of new people begins to change their long-standing relationship.
Nam Goong Ho is an office worker with a relatively stable life and career. He is unexpectedly drawn into emotional turmoil when he realizes that the woman he loves is beginning to waver.

Meanwhile, Lee Mi Do works on film sets and is dealing with personal struggles of her own. Although she has been in a long-term relationship, she gradually becomes confused when someone new enters her life. From there, the emotions of four people become intertwined, forcing them to face different choices about love and the future.
