On August 17, Kim Min-jung shared several photos on Instagram along with the short caption, “I want to tag everyone.”
The photos showed Kim Min-jung spending time with fellow actors from the 2018 tvN drama Mr. Sunshine and capturing memories between takes. A Japanese flag can be seen on the set, while Kim Min-jung also smiled for the camera wearing a kimono.

Just one day before Korea’s Liberation Day, on August 14, Kim Min-jung had also uploaded several behind-the-scenes photos from Mr. Sunshine. She mentioned the character she played, writing, “Around this time of year, I always think of Lee Yang-hwa.”
In the drama, Kim Min-jung played Kudo Hina, the owner of Hotel Glory. Born as the daughter of a pro-Japanese collaborator, Kudo Hina was a character who chose to fight for her homeland, in stark contrast to her father. Her Korean name was Lee Yang-hwa.

Mr. Sunshine tells the story of a young boy who was taken aboard an American warship during the 1871 Shinmiyangyo incident and later returned to Joseon as an American soldier, becoming stationed in the country that had abandoned him. The drama was a major hit at the time, recording a peak viewership rating of 18%.
Meanwhile, Kim Min-jung was born in 1982 and is 45 years old this year. She made her acting debut in 1988 and is celebrating her 38th year in the entertainment industry. After making a special appearance in the drama Check-in Hanyang last year, she has been taking a break from acting.
