On August 4, online communities were flooded with critical reactions to Jung Joon Won’s appearance on the August 1 episode of MBC’s Hangout with Yoo. During the program, he struggled with an impromptu acting challenge and appeared visibly nervous, prompting a wave of negative comments from viewers.
Many netizens also directed their attention toward director Shin Won Ho, who is known for casting Jung Joon Won in Resident Playbook. Shin Won Ho served as the creator of tvN’s 2025 medical drama Resident Playbook, where he reportedly played a key role in the casting process. He selected Jung Joon Won for the male lead role of Ku Do Won, marking the actor’s first leading role in a television miniseries.
