Actor Ji Soo has shared a new update from the Philippines as he continues his overseas activities following a school bullying controversy that led to his withdrawal from South Korean entertainment activities.
The actor recently appeared at a clothing brand event in Manila, where he greeted fans and showed a positive image after the conclusion of a long-running damages lawsuit connected to his former drama.
On August 6, Ji Soo posted several photos from the brand event held at a shopping mall in Manila on his social media, AllKPop reported.
In the pictures, he was seen wearing a denim jacket over a white shirt while smiling and interacting with local fans. His appearance drew attention as he continues building connections with audiences outside South Korea.
The Manila event came after the legal dispute related to the 2021 drama “River Where the Moon Rises” officially ended. The production company behind the series had filed a damages lawsuit against Ji Soo’s former agency, KeyEast, over additional costs caused by the actor’s departure from the drama.
Ji Soo Returns to Spotlight With Manila Event
The appellate court previously ordered KeyEast to pay approximately 880 million KRW (around 618,000 USD) in damages. After the agency withdrew its final appeal, the ruling became final, bringing the legal case to a close.
Ji Soo’s career changed significantly in 2021 after allegations of school bullying were raised against him.
According to SportsKhan, at the time, he acknowledged parts of the accusations and stepped down from “River Where the Moon Rises,” which he had been filming. The production later replaced him and continued the drama with another actor.
Following the controversy, Ji Soo ended his contract with KeyEast and paused his activities in South Korea. Since then, he has focused on overseas schedules, including fan meetings and brand events, while maintaining communication with international supporters. His recent appearance in the Philippines showed a different side of the actor after years away from domestic entertainment activities.
During the event, Ji Soo warmly greeted fans who came to see him, with photos showing him smiling and waving to the crowd.
