On August 17, Jennie officially apologized to BLACKPINK fans on Weverse amid growing criticism surrounding the group’s 10th anniversary celebrations. Her message came after she completed her festival schedule, with her Summer Sonic appearance in Japan serving as the final stop. She followed Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa, who had previously addressed the controversy.
Jennie said she had spent a lot of time reflecting on the milestone and felt sorry that she had not been able to properly communicate with BLINK. She explained that she wanted to finish her scheduled festivals before speaking with fans with a clearer and lighter heart.
“Hi, it’s Jennie.
I’ve been thinking a lot about our 10th anniversary and honestly, it made me really sad that I didn’t get the chance to properly talk to BLINKs and share how I was feeling. I wanted to wait until I finished my last festival that was already scheduled because I felt like I could come back and speak to you with a clearer heart.
These past 10 years have given me some of the most special moments of my life, all because of you. Your love has been with us through every step, helping us grow and allowing us to dream even bigger for the future.
Our 10th anniversary should have been a moment where we could just celebrate and be happy together, and I’m sorry that instead, some of you were left feeling disappointed. There’s really no excuse I can give for that. BLINKs have always been one of the biggest blessings and greatest loves in BLACKPINK’s life. I’m sorry I couldn’t show you a better side of myself in that moment, and more than anything, I just want you to know how thankful I am for everything you’ve given us over these 10 years.
I carry what we have together very close to my heart, always. I hope you know how much love and gratitude I have for all of you. Happy 10 years to us, and thank you for staying by our side and sharing all of it with us.
I won’t forget everything I’ve learned and felt along the way, and I’ll keep growing and doing my best to give back all the love you’ve given me.
I love you BLINK!”
She also expressed gratitude for the love BLINK has shown BLACKPINK over the past decade, calling fans one of the group’s greatest blessings. Jennie apologized for disappointing some fans and promised to continue growing and working hard to repay their support.

The controversy began with BLACKPINK’s August 8 “Meet & Greet,” which many fans criticized for its limited scale. The event was announced just two days in advance, only 40 fans were selected to attend in person, and the Weverse livestream lasted around 10 minutes. The offline event itself lasted just 30 minutes, while some fans also felt the gifts were underwhelming for such a major milestone.

The situation became more controversial after questions were raised about the use of the National Museum of Korea as the event venue. A complaint was reportedly filed with South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism seeking an investigation into the museum’s approval process.
The backlash also appeared to affect the fandom, with some longtime BLACKPINK fansites announcing closures, going private or suspending activities.

Jisoo was the first member to address the issue on August 8, followed by Rosé on August 11 and Lisa on August 14. All three expressed regret and acknowledged fans’ disappointment.
With Jennie’s apology, all four BLACKPINK members have now spoken directly about the controversy. While her message may help ease tensions within the BLINK community, rebuilding fans’ trust after such a highly anticipated 10th anniversary could take time.
At present, Jennie has been busy with her solo music activities. Jennie also shared a separate message reflecting on her recent festival journey:
Thank you guys for all the love and energy you’ve shared with me at every festival over these past three months. It’s hard to put into words how much I’ve experienced, learned, and grown along the way.
Looking back, there were so many unexpected moments, so many highs and lows, and I’ve realized that’s just part of life. Not everything is going to be perfect, and maybe it’s not supposed to be. I’m learning to appreciate every part of the journey for what it was, even the harder moments, because they taught me so much and helped me grow. I hope we can look back on all of it with love and carry the good, the lessons, and the memories with us into whatever comes next.
And none of these moments would have been possible without the incredible people who brought every stage to life with me. To my crew, staff, band, dancers, directors, and everyone behind the scenes, thank you for your endless hard work, passion, and for giving your all to every single show. I’m so grateful to have shared this journey with all of you.
I’m leaving this chapter with so much love, gratitude, and inspiration, and so many memories I’ll keep close to my heart.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
Until the next
