IVE has shared an early glimpse of “Looks Can Kill,” giving fans part of the song and its choreography before the complete release. The preview and dance challenge appeared on the group’s official social channels Oct. 12, ahead of the title track’s Oct. 19 arrival. The EP of the same name follows Oct. 26.
Those separate dates make the rollout easy to follow: the current clip introduces an excerpt, the full title track arrives next Monday, and the wider project comes a week later. Fans hearing the preview repeatedly on social media are encountering one part of the comeback rather than the completed release.
STARNEWS’s Korean report identifies An Yujin, Gaeul and Jang Wonyoung in the challenge against the “Hero Academy” setting. Its description highlights hand gestures and extended-arm movements, connecting the choreography with the hero imagery used in the campaign.
The title track also includes a member contribution behind the scenes. Starship Entertainment credited Seo Ji-eum, Lil Cherry and REI with participating in the lyrics, according to STARNEWS. That gives listeners a concrete creative detail to follow alongside the visual concept.
The campaign offers several points of entry without requiring fans to follow them all. Someone interested in dance can begin with the challenge; another listener can wait for the song. The preview makes the waiting period interactive while leaving the full arrangement and EP to introduce themselves on their release dates.
An in-person event adds another dimension. Spotify DIVE ACADEMY is scheduled at ARK Gangnam in Seoul from Oct. 17–19, with a pop-up on the first two days and a performance on Oct. 19. The final day coincides with the title track’s planned release.
The organizer’s FAQ distinguishes the admission routes. Pop-up reservations use Naver, while the performance has a separate application process. Attending the pop-up does not automatically provide entry to the performance. The latter is for selected Spotify Premium users aged 14 and older who can attend in person, with parental consent required for participants under 19.
Fans outside Seoul also have content to follow. The official FAQ says the performances will later be edited and released as exclusive Spotify content. That supports a subsequent viewing opportunity, rather than a promise of a simultaneous livestream or a confirmed upload time.
For now, the sequence is clear: explore the preview, follow the Seoul event beginning Oct. 17, hear “Looks Can Kill” on Oct. 19 and discover the EP on Oct. 26. The challenge gives DIVE something to try before release day; the complete music will provide the wider context for what they have learned.
