On April 27, I.O.I’s agency Swing Entertainment announced that the tracklist for I.O.I’s third mini album, I.O.I: LOOP, was released at midnight via the group’s official social media channels.
The title track has been confirmed as “Suddenly,” a synth-pop song featuring lyrics co-written by Jeon Somi. According to the agency, the track stands out for its nostalgic lyrics that revisit past memories and its dynamic progression in the latter half.
Other members also took part in creating the album’s tracks. Jeon Somi contributed to the pop dance track “IOI (Where My Girls At),” while Yoo Yeonjung participated in the rock-influenced “IF I.” Meanwhile, Chungha worked on the ballad “Us Then, Us Now,” which is described as a continuation of the narrative from I.O.I’s previous song “Downpour.”
The album will also include “SPF 100+ (Summer Pop Fantasy),” an Afrobeats-inspired track. The final song, “Goodbye With a Smile,” was produced by Park Jin Young and features archived recordings of the members’ voices from their 2016 debut era.
This comeback brings together nine members: Lim Nayoung, Chungha, Kim Sejeong, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Sohye, Yoo Yeonjung, Choi Yoojung, Kim Doyeon, and Jeon Somi. Originally debuting in May 2016 and disbanding after about seven months of promotions, the group is reuniting to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
The comeback schedule has also been revealed. A pre-release track will drop on May 4, followed by the official release of the third mini album on May 19 at 6 PM. From May 29 to 31, I.O.I will kick off their Asia tour with a solo concert held at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul.
