On May 26, actress Ha Ji Won’s agency Haewadal Entertainment confirmed that the actress will appear on Show! Music Core on May 30 to perform the viral stage once again.
The special appearance comes as part of a promise she made after a recent web variety video surpassed its target view count.
The buzz began through JTBC’s digital variety content 26th Class Jiwonieyo, where Ha Ji Won invited webtoon artist and entertainer Kian84 and broadcaster Kangnam to a university cheerleading club event.
During the episode, Kian84 and Kangnam jokingly suggested that Ha Ji Won should someday recreate her famous “Home Run” stage. In response, the actress playfully promised: “If the video surpasses 1.2 million views, I’ll recreate the performance.”
The video quickly exceeded the milestone, forcing Ha Ji Won to officially fulfill the promise.
Interest in the performance first resurfaced in March when Ha Ji Won appeared on Kangnam’s YouTube channel.
Kangnam revealed that his wife, former Olympic speed skater Lee Sang-hwa, sings “Home Run” whenever they go karaoke, leading them to revisit Ha Ji Won’s 2003 music show performance.
Embarrassed by the resurfaced clip, Ha Ji Won jokingly responded: “I wish nobody would watch that video.”
Ironically, clips and shorts featuring the performance exploded online, accumulating over 3 million views and turning the moment into an unexpected viral sensation.
Ha Ji Won’s upcoming appearance on Show! Music Core is already generating anticipation among fans curious to see how she will reinterpret the nostalgic stage with its early-2000s aesthetic and energy.
