Some of her fans were urging her daughter to become an actress.
Girl group Jewelry member Lee Jihyun is making it clear that her daughter’s growing popularity will not turn into an entertainment career anytime soon. The former idol recently reacted to viewers praising her 13-year-old daughter Seo Yoon’s visuals and urging her to become an actress. Her answer was immediate.
The moment appeared in a September 19 video uploaded to Lee Jihyun’s YouTube channel, in which production staff discussed the overwhelming response to a recent video featuring Seo Yoon. They told Jihyun that the comments had been “going crazy” over how pretty her daughter looked, with many viewers saying she should pursue acting.
But Jihyun was not convinced, commenting, “I haven’t seen the comments. No, no. She has to study.”
The production team quickly pointed out the irony. Jihyun herself had secretly gone to an audition when she was younger before eventually entering the entertainment industry. “Unnie, you secretly went to an audition yourself,” a staff member teased. Still, Jihyun did not budge!

Her daughter’s visuals have recently drawn enough attention that speculation about a possible entertainment debut has started appearing naturally in the comments. But despite her own past as an idol, Jihyun appears determined to keep Seo Yoon focused on school for now.
Lee Jihyun debuted as a member of the first-generation girl group Jewelry before later stepping away from idol activities. These days, much of the attention on her content comes from her family life, with Seo Yoon in particular recently drawing praise for how much she has grown. Still, when it comes to following her mother into the entertainment industry, Jihyun’s position could not be clearer.
For now, studying comes first.
