TV CHOSUN’s “Doctor Shin”, written by Im Sung Han, is finally showing signs of recovery just before its finale. After lingering in the 0–1% range, the drama recently climbed to 2.2%, marking its highest rating since premiere.

The late rise reflects growing curiosity around its increasingly intense storyline. Known for her unconventional and often polarizing narratives, Im Sung Han once again leans into taboo themes—this time combining a “brain change” concept with twisted romance and human desire.

At the center of the final arc is the emotionally charged reunion between Ahn Woo Yeon and Joo Se Bin. Their characters, long entangled in a complicated relationship, finally come face-to-face in what the production team describes as a moment where “even the air feels frozen.”
Ahn Woo Yeon portrays a man overwhelmed by regret and longing, while Joo Se Bin delivers a stark contrast with her cold, distant demeanor. The shift in her character—once emotional, now detached—creates a suffocating tension that defines the drama’s final stretch.

Episode 14 already heightened stakes with dramatic developments: the birth of Geum Bara’s child, the revelation of her biological family, and her sudden reappearance after disappearing. These twists pushed the narrative into its most suspenseful phase, drawing more attention online and in buzz rankings.
Although “Doctor Shin” struggled early on, its final episodes demonstrate a familiar pattern in Im Sung Han’s works—slow beginnings followed by explosive, conversation-driving climaxes.
With only one episode remaining, the focus now turns to how these tangled relationships and bold themes will ultimately resolve.
