Before debuting with CIX, Seunghun spent years as a trainee under YG Entertainment and Cube Entertainment, enduring nearly a decade of preparation before finally debuting. As the group’s main vocalist, he also gained recognition by winning Mnet’s Build Up: Vocal Boy Group Survival in 2024, later promoting with the project group B.D.U.
On April 29, Seunghun posted a heartfelt message on his Instagram, beginning with, “To FIX (fans), it’s already been seven years. At first, I didn’t really know anything—I was just happy to debut. But now I can’t believe I’ve spent such a long time with you.”
Reflecting on his journey, he humbly shared, “Looking back, I feel like I was lacking in many ways. I made mistakes and didn’t always meet expectations, but thanks to FIX who believed in me, supported me, and told me I was okay, I was able to grow little by little. The person I am today was made by you.”

He continued by addressing fans more personally, saying that communicating with them had always been one of his greatest sources of happiness. However, he admitted that over time, he lost some emotional space and found it difficult to connect as he once did. “If I disappointed those who were waiting for me, I’m truly sorry. It wasn’t because my feelings for you faded—I just didn’t have the strength at the time,” he confessed.
After much contemplation, Seunghun revealed a major life decision: “I’ve decided to put down the title of ‘singer’ for now and try living a new life as an individual outside the stage. It wasn’t an easy choice, but I believe it’s something I truly need right now.” He added that although stepping into a new path feels unfamiliar and even frightening, he intends to continue living earnestly in his own way.
He also expressed gratitude to his fellow members, saying, “To BX, Yonghee, and Hyunsuk, who walked this journey with me for seven years—thank you. Whether in happy or difficult moments, I was able to endure because of you. I was truly a happy Seunghun of CIX.”

On the same day, CIX’s agency C9 Entertainment released an official statement confirming the group would cease activities after approximately seven years since their debut in July 2019. The agency announced that the exclusive contracts of BX and Seunghun would end on April 30.
They also shared updates on the other members: Yonghee has applied for military enlistment and will begin basic training on May 11 before serving as an active-duty soldier. Meanwhile, Hyunsuk will focus on his ongoing drama project, with his contract set to expire on May 31.
CIX, originally formed by C9 Entertainment and led by former Bae Jinyoung, debuted in 2019 and remained active for about seven years. Bae Jinyoung had previously departed from the group in August 2024 following the end of his contract.
As the members prepare to move forward on separate paths, fans are now left reflecting on the group’s journey and offering support for their future endeavors.
