
BTS has reached another historic milestone on YouTube as the music video for its global hit “Dynamite” officially surpassed 2.1 billion views.
According to Big Hit Music, the music video crossed the mark at around 8 a.m. on June 24. The achievement came just nine months after the video previously reached 2 billion views in September, adding another 100 million views in less than a year.
“Dynamite” is now the first BTS music video to hit 2.1 billion views and remains the group’s most-viewed release on YouTube.
Released in August 2020, “Dynamite” became an important turning point in BTS’ career, MaeilBusiness reported.
The upbeat disco-pop song was the group’s first full English-language single and delivered a bright message of hope during a difficult time around the world. The music video gained massive attention for its colorful retro style, energetic choreography, and catchy melody.
Fans around the world quickly embraced the song, helping it break records across streaming platforms, music charts, and award shows.
“Dynamite” also made history on Billboard. The single became the first song by a Korean act to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

BTS later stayed at the top spot for a total of three weeks. The song also remained on the Hot 100 chart for 32 weeks, marking the longest chart run for a K-pop artist at the time.
The success of “Dynamite” extended beyond streaming numbers. The song earned BTS its first Grammy Award nomination and won Best Song at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards.
According to The Korea Times, it also received Top Selling Song at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.
