The Audit Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism designated an audit officer to investigate the controversy over the approval of the BLACKPINK meet-and-greet at the museum. They plan to process the civil petitions requesting an audit by August 19.
The core of the controversy lies in the event’s decision-making process and its impact on the museum’s operations. Even as late as August 7, one day before the event, the specific venue within the museum had not been finalized.
However, on the day of the event, entry to some exhibitions was restricted, and the schedules of existing workshops were changed, causing discomfort for people.
The audit process will review the timing of the initial consultation for the event, the date of approval, and the date the actual venue was finalized, which may be subject to verification.
The Audit Office will determine the necessity of an audit during the processing stage.
