On August 8, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa appeared together for a live broadcast through the fan communication platform Weverse.
During the broadcast, the members celebrated their 10th debut anniversary, saying, “Today marks 10 years since BLACKPINK was born,” as they shared the special occasion with fans.
However, the broadcast got off to an awkward start when a technical error caused the screen to rotate 90 degrees, forcing the members to restart the live stream. Jennie joked, “It’s already been 10 years, but I still feel awkward doing live broadcasts,” while Rosé also admitted, “The more I do live streams, the harder they seem to get,” revealing their embarrassment over the mishap. Throughout the broadcast, the members responded to BLINKs with heart gestures and smiles, seemingly making an effort to comfort fans and reconnect with them.
Earlier that day, BLACKPINK held a “Meet & Greet” event with fans at the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to mark its 10th anniversary. However, the event sparked controversy over what fans described as insufficient preparation. Only 40 fans were reportedly allowed to attend, while details regarding the exact location and schedule were lacking, and it was initially unclear whether all four members would attend. These issues led some fans to criticize the event as somewhat lacking in sincerity and consideration.
Before the live broadcast, Jisoo personally addressed the controversy surrounding the 10th anniversary event. She wrote, “We prepared a small event today, and we wanted to meet as many people as possible. We knew how important the 10th anniversary was, but there were issues during the communication process. I’m sorry about that,” offering an apology to fans.
