JTBC’s new Saturday-Sunday drama Final Table, premiering on October 24, promises a bold challenge from the team at Restaurant Familia. The series follows Kang Han (Ahn Hyo-seop), Choi Song-i (Hong Hwa-yeon), Choi Du-young (Kim Jae-hwa), and Park Geon-woo (Lee Bong-jun) as they risk everything to save Restaurant Familia.
Expectations are particularly high for Ahn Hyo-seop, who rose to prominence playing Seo Woo-jin in SBS’s Dr. Romantic 2. The drama was a major hit, recording a nationwide viewership rating of 27.1% for its final episode. He later expanded his international profile by voicing Jinu in Netflix’s animated film KPop Demon Hunters. With his global fan base continuing to grow, viewers are eager to see how he performs in the role of a chef.

Saving a Restaurant on the Brink of Closure: The Unpredictable Team Familia
Restaurant Familia faces closure following the disgraced death of its owner-chef. For Kang Han, the restaurant holds precious memories of his father, while for Choi Song-i, it is the establishment her father devoted his entire life to building. The two decide to win The Table: K Chef 2026 and bring Familia back to life. Song-i’s aunt, Choi Du-young, and experienced chef Park Geon-woo subsequently join them, bringing the team to four members.
As the team’s head chef, Kang Han relies on his natural talent and flashes of creativity. Believing that food should move people’s hearts, he reinterprets cooking techniques he has learned around the world in his own distinctive way. Under his hands, entirely new dishes emerge that audiences have never seen before.

Restaurant owner Choi Song-i is outspoken, determined, and persistent. Even after her father’s death, she has steadfastly kept the business running as its front-of-house manager. At the same time, she takes on the most junior duties in the kitchen, including menial tasks and dishwashing, making her an indispensable pillar of Familia.
Sous-chef Choi Du-young is Kang Han’s reliable right-hand woman. Although she has been cooking for only a year, her organizational skills and strict hygiene standards are second to none. Her ability to sort and arrange ingredients helps raise the team’s overall standards.
Park Geon-woo is responsible for desserts and garde manger, the kitchen section that handles the preparation of ingredients and cold dishes. Equipped with exceptional concentration and sharp judgment, he also holds a traditional liquor sommelier certificate and previously opened his own restaurant at the age of 23. His experience and professionalism make him a dependable asset to the team. Viewers are eager to see how the four individuals, each with different strengths, will work together on the competitive stage.

“You’ll Lose to Me Again”: A Head-to-Head Cooking Showdown
The newly released preview for Episode 1 reveals what drives the two main characters to enter the competition. The video opens with flames rising inside a kitchen before cutting between Kang Han captivating people with his cooking in an open outdoor setting and Choi Song-i standing alone in Familia, where no customers are coming in. Even when her aunt, Choi Du-young, urges her to close the restaurant, Song-i refuses to give up.
Then Seon Jeong-won (Jung Yoo-jin), the competition’s executive producer, approaches Song-i and proposes that she participate, insisting that winning is the only way to save the restaurant. However, Song-i remains suspicious, declaring, “I know why you’re holding this competition.” A remark from Moon Hae-seon (Jang Young-nam), chairwoman of Pyungyeon Group, which is organizing the event, also raises questions: “The protagonist of that drama should be someone we’ve cast ourselves, shouldn’t they?”

After Kang Han arrives at Familia, a series of ominous events unfolds. Just after Song-i asks him for help, saying, “Pyungyeon killed my father,” an unexplained accident leaves the kitchen in chaos. Kang Han’s tense expression as he holds the fallen Song-i adds to the suspense. The incident also triggers fragments of memories from his past, including scenes of Cha Woo-jin, his rival and the owner-chef of one of the country’s top restaurants, pressuring someone, as well as Woo-jin’s disturbingly composed expression at a funeral.
Eventually, Kang Han provokes Cha Woo-jin, declaring, “You’ll end up losing to me again this time,” before accepting Song-i’s proposal. What is the real reason he decides to enter the competition? JTBC’s Final Table premieres on October 24 at 10:40 p.m.
