Born in 1981, Sun Feifei was once one of the most prominent beauties on Chinese television during the 2000s. Known for her striking appearance and well-regarded acting skills, she made her mark through dramas including Sword Stained with Royal Blood, The Legend of Chu Liuxiang, Beauty’s Rival in Palace, Rose Martial World, and Palace II. However, just as her career was gaining momentum, the actress became embroiled in a series of controversies and setbacks, ranging from allegedly botched cosmetic surgery and an assault involving a production crew to a controversial red-carpet wardrobe incident. The succession of scandals gradually dimmed Sun Feifei’s once-bright career.
After stepping away from the spotlight, Sun Feifei began dating Jack Shi, a department director at Lenovo Group, after the two were introduced by friends. During their relationship, the Sword Stained with Royal Blood actress became pregnant. Jack Shi subsequently agreed to marry her in June 2014, and the couple held their wedding the following month. What Sun Feifei believed would be the beginning of a happy family life, however, reportedly turned into a painful marriage, with the actress claiming that Shi repeatedly looked down on her and used the fact that she had become pregnant before marriage against her.
In September 2025, Sun Feifei publicly spoke about her marriage and detailed the humiliation she said she had endured. The actress tearfully claimed that throughout their 11 years together, Jack Shi repeatedly tormented and belittled her because he suspected she had become pregnant by another man and was trying to make him raise someone else’s child. According to Sun, she received almost no care from her husband during her pregnancy. She alleged that he would wake her in the middle of the night and repeatedly interrogate her about whether she had cheated on him or flirted with a man renting one of her properties. She further claimed that after their child was born, Shi remained cold toward the baby.
“Women should never become pregnant before marriage, because it can become a weakness that the other person uses to control and torment you. He knows you’re trapped, that you don’t dare terminate the pregnancy, and that you depend on his attitude. He gives himself permission to treat you badly because he knows you have nowhere to go. Look at how my life fell apart and don’t make the same mistake. I did become pregnant unexpectedly, but he was the one who asked me to keep the baby. Yet after our child was born, he began suspecting that the baby wasn’t his. During the first three months of my pregnancy, the child’s father didn’t even buy me a single raisin. Even when our baby was eight months old and could already say ‘Dad,’ he had never held the child once and always acted as though he disliked the baby,” Sun Feifei said while recounting the ordeal of being accused by her husband of carrying another man’s child.
Sun Feifei also alleged that Jack Shi placed the financial burden of the household and responsibility for caring for his 80-year-old father on her. His father had reportedly been unable to walk after suffering a stroke three years earlier. While she said she was left to manage the household and care for both the young and elderly members of the family, Shi allegedly spent his days eating and drinking with friends who worked in insurance. Sun further accused him of physically and verbally abusing her when he was unhappy, fueled by his suspicion that she had used the pregnancy to trap him into marriage.
Exhausted by the repeated accusations that she had been unfaithful and had another man’s child, Sun Feifei said she ultimately took her child for a DNA test to prove the truth. According to her account, the result showed a 99.99% probability of a biological father-child relationship. Yet rather than ending his suspicions, Jack Shi allegedly responded with a remark that left her devastated: “What about the remaining 0.01%? There’s still a possibility that the child belongs to someone else!”
Unable to endure the situation any longer, Sun Feifei initiated divorce proceedings in hopes of ending what she described as a hellish marriage. However, she said Jack Shi refused to agree to the divorce. She further alleged that he went around accusing her of being a terrible and unfilial daughter-in-law who had abandoned her sick father-in-law, damaging her reputation.
With Jack Shi repeatedly refusing to divorce, Sun Feifei said she had no choice but to pursue a unilateral divorce. For around two years, the actress repeatedly attempted to complete the legal process, hoping to finally free herself from the marriage.
Sun Feifei recalled that on the day she and her child left their home, Jack Shi repeatedly sent messages saying that he missed his wife and child and wanted them to return so they could reconcile. However, when the case reached court, she said he once again questioned whether the child was biologically his, rejected the DNA result, and refused to provide child support. According to Sun, the judge then told Shi to select a hospital he trusted so that another paternity test could be conducted. He reportedly declined, saying he did not have time to undergo the test.
Ultimately, hoping to end the marriage as quickly as possible and begin a new life with her child, Sun Feifei decided not to demand child support from Jack Shi. The divorce was finally completed between late 2025 and early 2026. After leaving the courtroom, Sun said bitterly, “He should have knelt down right there in court and begged my child and me for forgiveness. If even a DNA test showing 99.99% cannot earn me an apology, then what can a woman who has suffered such an injustice in her marriage rely on to prove her innocence?”
After ending the troubled marriage, Sun Feifei reportedly withdrew from public life with her child. She has largely disappeared from the public eye and has not been seen for nearly a year.
