Actor Byun Yo Han expressed deep trust and affection toward his wife, Girls’ Generation (also known as SNSD) member and actress Tiffany Young.
In his first meeting with the press since their marriage, he placed greater importance on understanding and trusting each other’s work rather than changes in their newlywed life.
Byun Yo Han and Tiffany revealed last December that they were dating with the intention to marry, and they legally became husband and wife after registering their marriage in February.
Regarding married life, Byun Yo Han said, “I’m not used to it yet, but I’m very happy now.”
He added, “I see this as chapter 2 of my life. I have a new resolve and I’m creating my own path. I don’t know exactly where this will lead, but I want to separate work and life well and continue growing deeper as an actor.”
However, he laughed off having a new title attached due to marriage. Byun said, “I think ‘Tiffany’s husband’ fits best. I don’t want to have any titles like ‘brother-in-law of Girls’ Generation’ that carry power.”
He emphasized, “I just want to strive on my own as actor Byun Yo Han.” Even after marriage, he wants to show himself through his work and acting rather than flashy titles.
His wife Tiffany, having been active in the entertainment industry for a long time, understands him as an actor better than anyone else. This also applied to his bold scenes, such as the bed scenes with Ayaka Miyoshi in Tazza 4.
Asked about Tiffany’s reaction, Byun said, “She’s also been in this business for a long time, so she understands how hard the preparation process is for an actor.”
He continued, “She’s watched me prepare for projects from the side and can look at those parts very objectively. So, there’s no problem at all,” he explained.
The biggest strength Byun pointed out about Tiffany is undoubtedly her “trust.” Although there are many strengths, Byun said, “Above all, her belief in me is huge. You really feel like ‘how far will this person trust me?’ and that feeling is very genuine.”
He added, “I trust Tiffany just as much. I think being able to trust each other like that is probably the coolest thing in a relationship.”
He said his attitude toward work changed after marriage. “It’s comforting to be able to go through this tough world with someone who trusts me. It’s also comfortable when I go home. Whereas before, I was too immersed in my work, now I can step back a bit and view myself from a third-person perspective,” he said.
The delayed honeymoon had significant meaning for him as well. Byun said, “I went on my honeymoon after finishing two projects, The Uninvited and Cascade. I think the hardest thing is to protect the person you love. I got married and accomplished that difficult thing, so I think it gave me confidence that I can be trusted when working on projects.“
