An investment group that announced plans to acquire up to 50% of JYP Entertainment, the agency founded by Park Jin-young, has reportedly set next year as the target for its first corporate acquisition.
According to a corporate profile released by The NEXROC Group, which presents itself as a Japanese investment group, the company plans to acquire approximately 15 businesses over the next five years, with its first acquisition scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. This places the beginning of its acquisition plan between January and March next year.
On October 26, NEXROC and SVCV announced that they were considering acquiring between 25% and 50% of JYP Entertainment’s shares. They also said their goal was to launch a tender offer starting November 20.
A tender offer is a public proposal inviting shareholders to sell their shares at a specified price. NEXROC is reportedly considering offering a price approximately 30% higher than the market price.
If the investment group secures the stake as planned, it could become a major shareholder with a larger ownership percentage than Park Jin-young and his related parties.
NEXROC described SVCV, which announced the acquisition plan alongside the group, as a culture and entertainment business operating under the NEXROC Group.
SVCV announced on June 17 that it was preparing to officially launch its business in Japan. In its corporate profile, NEXROC also stated that SVCV’s entertainment and fashion businesses were scheduled to begin full-scale operations in 2027.
However, JYP Entertainment, the company named as the acquisition target, stated on October 26, “We have not received any proposal regarding the acquisition of our shares.” The statement contradicts the investment group’s announcement of its acquisition plans.
