SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia (hereafter Doctor X) has unveiled a pictorial featuring Kim Ji Won and Lee Jung Eun for the October issue of Marie Claire.
Doctor X is a medical noir drama that follows Gye Soo Jung, a brilliant surgeon known as Doctor X who neither accepts failure nor compromises as she confronts deep-rooted corruption. Kim Ji Won plays genius surgeon Gye Soo Jung, while Lee Jung Eun takes on the role of Jang Hee Sook, the head of an agency that provides doctors for hire.
In the pictorial, the two actresses pose side by side while looking directly into the camera, creating a chic atmosphere. Their contrasting charms, combined with the vivid primary colors of the shoot, offer a glimpse of the dynamic between their characters in the drama.
In the series, Gye Soo Jung and Jang Hee Sook are partners bound by a contractual relationship born out of necessity, yet they share a bond that runs deeper than family. While Gye Soo Jung focuses solely on surgery, Jang Hee Sook takes care of everything she overlooks. Together, they display perfect teamwork while also bickering like an aunt and her niece.
In an interview accompanying the pictorial, Kim Ji Won and Lee Jung Eun expressed their affection for each other and shared behind-the-scenes stories from the filming set. Their full interview can be found in the October issue of Marie Claire.
The drama marks Kim Ji Won’s first television series in two years following tvN’s Queen of Tears, which aired in 2024. At the time, Kim Ji Won played Hong Hae In opposite Kim Soo Hyun, with the two portraying a married couple. This time, she will team up with Lee Jung Eun, showcasing an entirely new kind of chemistry.
Doctor X is scheduled to premiere next month on the 9th at 9:50 p.m.
