A rising girl group idol has honestly shared the emotional and physical distress she went through due to insecurities about her weight.
On September 11th, a video titled “War with Fat: The Truth About 20 kg” was uploaded on YouTube.
In the video, RESCENE’s Woni, Minami, and Liv addressed rumors of a 20 kg weight gain. Previously, in a video released in July, Woni mentioned the weight changes of the members preparing for debut, saying there was a difference of about 20 kg in Minami’s case.
In response, Minami corrected it, saying, “It’s not 20 kg.” Liv revealed she lost 13 kg, and Minami said she lost 18 kg.

The RESCENE members received many criticisms related to dieting during their debut preparations, and Minami shared that she was hurt during a costume fitting process. She recalled feeling embarrassed because jeans wouldn’t fit up from her hips.
Minami said, “I forced myself to pull the pants up,” and added, “I squeezed into them and went out, but I felt so bad that I went to the car and cried alone.”
She continued, “I cried, so I had to redo my makeup, and the shoot was even halted,” recalling the difficult moment. “I couldn’t breathe well and had no energy at all. The diet was that big of a stress.”
At that time, Minami said all the stress she experienced in daily life led to dieting, and she “cried almost every day,” evoking sympathy.
Afterwards, Minami and Liv began serious dieting, losing 18 kg and 13 kg respectively before debuting as RESCENE. However, they honestly admitted to experiencing significant psychological burdens through the drastic weight loss process, revealing the hardships hidden behind their glamorous debut.
