Ahead of his upcoming South Korea concerts in May 2027, Bruno Mars has openly expressed his desire to perform his smash hit “APT.” with BLACKPINK’s Rosé once again.
Pop superstar Bruno Mars, who has earned 16 Grammy Awards throughout his career, recently announced plans to hold concerts in South Korea in May 2027.
During an interview with MBC’s YouTube channel 14F, Mars was asked about his ideas for a special stage in Seoul. The singer immediately suggested inviting Rosé to join him.
“I have to get Rosé on stage. Rosé, if you’re listening or watching this, let me know. For me and you to sing ‘APT.’ together in Korea, what do I have to do? That would really be such a meaningful moment,” he said.
Mars then joked, “If I can still afford to book her… Rosé’s fee is so expensive these days. She doesn’t even pick up my calls anymore.”
During the same interview, Mars also expressed his affection for his Korean fans. “I really want to express how precious Korean fans are and how much I want to perform for them. If I could, I’d love to do as many shows as possible. I’d even like to live in Korea for a month,” he said.
After the interview clip went viral, Rosé shared it on her personal Instagram, tagging Mars and adding an emoji that appeared to express mock annoyance. Her playful reaction to Bruno Mars delighted fans.
Fans familiar with the friendship between the two artists commented, “This is simply two best friends who genuinely love and support each other.”
Previously, in an interview with Billboard, Rosé described Bruno Mars as “a mentor in the music industry and like an older brother” to her.
In late 2024, Rosé and Bruno Mars created a global sensation when they released “APT.,” a track featured on Rosé’s debut solo album, rosie.
The song topped the Billboard Global 200 for 12 consecutive weeks and remained at No. 1 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart for 19 consecutive weeks.
On the Billboard Hot 100, “APT.” spent 45 weeks on the chart and peaked at No. 3, making Rosé the highest-charting female K-pop artist on the ranking with a song.
According to statistics from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), “APT.” was also the best-selling single worldwide in 2025. The song has since surpassed 2.6 billion streams on Spotify, while its music video has reached 2.6 billion views on YouTube, breaking multiple K-pop records.
At the 68th Grammy Awards held in February this year, “APT.” received three nominations: Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Although the song did not win, Rosé and Bruno Mars delivered a memorable opening performance of “APT.” together. It marked Rosé’s first appearance at the Grammys as a solo K-pop artist.
In April last year, Rosé also made a surprise guest appearance at Coldplay’s concert in Goyang, where she performed “APT.” with the band. On that occasion, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin took over Bruno Mars’ part, creating another memorable moment.
Now, fans are eagerly waiting to see whether Rosé and Bruno Mars will actually reunite on stage in Seoul and perform “APT.” together once again.
