On August 19, THE BOYZ’s Eric shared a series of messages with fans, explaining that he had remained silent about the issue for a long time. However, the constant contact had reportedly reached a point where he could no longer ignore it. “There’s actually something I want to say. I’m sorry to bring something like this up here when even just sharing good things with THE Bs isn’t enough, but I want to ask you not to contact me personally.”
Eric then revealed the shocking number of people who have been contacting him directly. “I’ve been holding this in for a long time before saying this, but it’s gotten too severe… I get 20 or 30 people contacting me personally throughout the entire day.”

The idol emphasized that he does not respond to these messages and asked fans to refrain from contacting his private number. “I don’t reply anyway and just leave all of them, so please refrain from doing it. I’m only going to say this exactly once.”
Instead, Eric encouraged fans who want to send him messages to use the official fan communication platform. “I really appreciate everyone who wants to say nice things to me, but please leave them here!! I read all of the messages THE Bs send me through Fromm. Got it?”

Eric also explained that the situation was beginning to interfere with his work. According to the idol, the sheer number of messages on KakaoTalk was making it difficult for him to keep track of important work-related conversations. “The reason I’m saying this is because KakaoTalk messages keep piling up so much that it’s starting to interfere with me checking my work-related KakaoTalk messages.” He also made a direct request regarding phone calls. “And don’t call me when I’m sleeping. The end.”
Eric’s blunt message quickly drew attention from fans, with many expressing concern over the extent of the unwanted contact he has been receiving. Rather than simply complaining about annoying messages, Eric specifically pointed out that the situation was affecting both his privacy and his work. At the same time, he made it clear that he appreciates messages from fans and is willing to communicate with them through the appropriate channel.

His remarks have once again brought attention to the issue of sasaeng behavior in the K-pop industry. While idols often maintain close relationships with their fandoms through dedicated communication platforms, repeatedly contacting an artist through their private phone number can cross a clear personal boundary.
For now, Eric has made his stance clear: fans can continue sending him their support through Fromm, but he does not want them contacting him personally.
