Former figure skating champion Yuna Kim has lent her support to helping abandoned dogs find loving forever homes. On November 5, Elle Korea shared a video on its official social media account showing her participating in a photo shoot with two rescue dogs, Tony and Cookie.
In the video, Yuna Kim surprises fans with a new look, sporting long, straight hair with full bangs. Her transformation, with bangs completely covering her forehead, immediately catches attention. Other scenes show her elegantly pulling off brightly colored dresses and enjoying relaxed walks alongside the rescue dogs, creating a comfortable and natural atmosphere.

Yuna Kim explained why she decided to participate, saying, “I was happy when I received the offer to take part in the photo shoot. If it helps even one of these little ones become known and find a family, I think that’s a wonderful thing.” The stories of the two dogs featured in the shoot are particularly heartbreaking. According to Elle Korea, six-month-old Tony was rescued from a rural yard in Chuncheon. Three-year-old Cookie is believed to have spent a long time living in an elevated cage with a wire-mesh floor. Both dogs are currently under the care of the animal protection organization People Who Help Abandoned Animals Find Happiness and are waiting to meet their new families.

Sharing her thoughts about the experience, Yuna Kim said, “I had really high expectations, and the shoot was so much fun.” She added with a laugh, “They were even smaller than I expected, and their playful, energetic personalities were just so adorable.” When asked what she hoped Tony and Cookie would get to experience, she replied, “I hope they find a family first. And once they have a family, wouldn’t they be able to experience just about anything?” Asked what the dogs needed to do to be loved, she warmly answered, “You don’t have to do anything. Just stay as adorable as you are.” Her affection for the two dogs continued even after the photo shoot ended. Elle Korea revealed that she sent them off with the words, “Be happy, be happy, be happy.”

Yuna Kim married Ko Woo-rim, a member of the vocal group Forestella who is five years her junior, in 2022. She has continued to make public appearances and pursue various activities through television programs and other projects.
