G-Dragon discussed his social media habits during an appearance on Epik High’s official YouTube channel, where he, Taeyang, and Daesung appeared as guests to promote BIGBANG’s latest activities. The episode, titled “Family Gathering ft. BIGBANG,” featured a lighthearted conversation about G-Dragon’s tendency to arrive late and his surprisingly active Instagram habits.
During the conversation, Tablo mentioned that Taeyang had been waiting for nearly an hour, while Daesung had arrived about 20 minutes earlier. G-Dragon immediately clarified that he had actually arrived before Daesung but had been occupied elsewhere.
When Tukutz asked what he had been doing, G-Dragon explained: “There are a lot of things I normally do when I’m in the car.” When Tukutz jokingly asked whether he was busy liking posts, G-Dragon replied that he did indeed need to keep up with his likes. “I have to like things, too. I couldn’t even like anything today. I’ve been too busy.”
G-Dragon then demonstrated how he uses Instagram by pulling out his phone and opening the app. He explained that his algorithm is filled mostly with content he is already familiar with. “For example, I open it like this. The algorithm is almost entirely like that. I already know most of it, so I just press ‘Like.’” He added simply: “If I like it, I press ‘Like.’” His casual approach to social media has nevertheless caused headlines in the past.

G-Dragon’s Instagram activity has previously attracted significant attention, particularly when he was discovered to have liked posts related to singer Jennie and Japanese model Kiko Mizuhara, both of whom have been linked to him in dating rumors.
The topic prompted Tukutz to joke about whether G-Dragon simply likes anything featuring himself or BIGBANG in the thumbnail. Tablo then joked that Epik High should put BIGBANG in every thumbnail from now on so that G-Dragon would be more likely to click “Like.”
G-Dragon appeared puzzled by the attention surrounding his social media activity “It’s my ‘Like,’ so why?” Tukutz responded by pointing out the unusual level of influence attached to even a simple social media interaction from G-Dragon. “When you like something, it becomes an article. Do you still not know how influential you are?”
Tablo joined in, jokingly warning G-Dragon not to give out his likes too freely because they are “more valuable than you think.” He then reminded G-Dragon: “You’re really famous.” The exchange prompted laughter from the group.

G-Dragon eventually explained that there was a personal reason behind his increased Instagram activity. He said BIGBANG had been away from the music scene for a long time, and by the time the other members began their activities again, he was the last member to return. “We had taken a long break. The other members came back first and were already promoting, and I was the last one.”
Because he had no other direct way to communicate, G-Dragon said Instagram became his main outlet. “There wasn’t really a channel for communication, and I don’t know how to use anything other than Instagram.” He therefore began liking posts as a way of expressing himself. “I started liking one or two posts because I didn’t have another way to express myself. Then those people seemed happy about it and started putting even more effort into their posts.”
What began as a small gesture of interaction appears to have gradually become G-Dragon’s own way of communicating with people online. While his enormous public profile means even a single Instagram “Like” can become entertainment news, G-Dragon’s explanation suggests that he views the action much more simply as a way to show appreciation and connect with people when he has few other avenues to express himself.
The conversation also offered a rare glimpse into the more casual side of the BIGBANG star, who seemed genuinely surprised that something as ordinary as tapping a “Like” could generate so much attention.
