TWICE leader Jihyo has personally addressed fans amid ongoing contract renewal discussions with JYP Entertainment, sharing an emotional message about the difficult decisions she is currently facing.
On July 28, Jihyo posted a heartfelt message through TWICE’s official fan communication platform, Bubble, where she spoke directly to ONCE, the group’s official fandom. Her message came as discussions about TWICE’s future with JYP Entertainment continue to attract attention from fans around the world.
Jihyo admitted that it has been difficult for her to communicate casually with fans because of the emotional pressure surrounding the situation. She wrote, “I could be having casual conversations with ONCE about everyday things, but right now it’s difficult because my heart feels so heavy.”
The TWICE leader also explained that she was careful before reaching out but wanted to avoid making fans wait too long for an update, AllKPop reported.
She shared, “I’ll do my best to resolve everything properly and share good news with you as soon as I can.”
Jihyo reassured fans that she would carefully consider her next steps and make a thoughtful decision about her future. She added, “As the person responsible for my own life, I’ll think everything through wisely and make the best choice.” She also asked ONCE to continue supporting and trusting her as they have always done.

Jihyo Reassures ONCE Amid TWICE Contract
While addressing the uncertainty surrounding her contract, Jihyo emphasized that her love for TWICE remains unchanged. She wrote, “I sincerely love and cherish TWICE as a team, and I believe ONCE will understand me because of that alone.”
The message quickly gained attention as TWICE’s renewal talks remain one of the biggest topics among fans.
Earlier this month, reports suggested that some members, including Jihyo, Jeongyeon, Tzuyu, and Chaeyoung, were considering changes regarding their agencies. Rumors also claimed that Jihyo could leave JYP Entertainment after more than 20 years with the company.
Responding to the reports on July 14, JYP Entertainment said that TWICE was currently in the contract renewal discussion period and that an official update would be provided once the matter was finalized.
Jihyo has a long history with JYP Entertainment. She joined the company as a trainee and spent around 10 years preparing before debuting as TWICE’s leader in 2015. Including her trainee years, she has been connected with the agency for approximately 21 years.
The contract discussions come after TWICE completed their large-scale world tour “This Is For.”
According to TheChosun, the group performed 81 shows across 19 countries over about one year, setting a record for the most concerts held by a Korean female artist.
