The business is known to be run by Kim and her family, and hence, these pictures have landed the actress in a major controversy.
While hanging the flag the wrong way was already a blunder enough, the fact that it was spotted right before Hangeul Day (October 9), a national holiday celebrating the Korean language, has heightened the stakes. Many netizens called out Kim for disrespecting the Taegeukgi, while others argued that it was entirely possible the flag was not installed by her or her business.
Neither Kim Gyu Ri nor the café has addressed the controversy yet, despite the mounting backlash.
