Song Ji Eun breaks down in tears on a Christian program while husband Park We remains silent following controversy over CCTV footage of his KTX fall.
On September 14, Song Ji Eun appeared on the Christian YouTube channel Saeropge Hasoseo, where she served as a host alongside singer Joo Young Hoon and comedian Lee Jung Soo.
During the program, Song Ji Eun was moved to tears after hearing the story of a church deaconess who had lost her 17-year-old son. “It must have been incredibly difficult to talk about this, so I’m grateful that you shared your life with so many people,” she said. Offering words of comfort, she continued, “We often call children ‘angels,’ don’t we? It feels as though an angel visited this family.”
The video drew particular attention because it was released while her husband, Park We, has remained silent for more than three weeks following his recent controversy. However, it has not been confirmed whether the episode was recorded before or after the controversy involving Park We began.
The controversy started after Park We uploaded CCTV footage to his YouTube channel on August 21, saying that he had fallen while getting off a KTX train after the wheel of his wheelchair became caught on the foot of a social service worker.
However, he faced backlash after critics argued that releasing the CCTV footage without the social service worker’s consent was an excessive response, particularly as the worker had already apologized over the incident.
Park We subsequently apologized and deleted the video. The fallout continued as he voluntarily stepped down from his position as a Seoul public relations ambassador, scheduled speaking engagements were canceled, and his YouTube channel reportedly experienced a decline in subscribers.
Meanwhile, Song Ji Eun and Park We tied the knot in October 2024 and have been married since.
