Singer Joo Hyung Jin released his new song “Autumn Night” at noon on September 29. The accompanying music video features scenes from the film Love for Sale.
Love for Sale was part of the omnibus film Camellia, a collaborative project involving directors from three Asian countries, including director Jang Joon Hwan, released 16 years ago. The film starred Kang Dong Won and Song Hye Kyo. Recently, Song Hye Kyo shared everyday photos on her social media account and tagged accounts related to Jang Joon Hwan and Kang Dong Won. She also added the hashtag “Love for Sale.”
Set in Busan in the near future, the film follows a man and woman who lose their memories of each other but fatefully fall in love again in a society where love can be bought and sold. The music video captures the same emotional storyline, with Kang Dong Won reportedly suggesting that the film be re-edited for his friend Joo Hyung Jin’s new release.
“Autumn Night” was originally included on Davichi’s 2016 mini album 50 X HALF. Ten years later, Joo Hyung Jin has remade the song in his own voice. The track was previously selected as a candidate for the title song through fan voting. Singer-songwriter and production team Rocoberry handled the overall production, further enhancing the song’s musical quality.
