On October 18, Son Ye-jin posted several photos on social media along with the message, “Hope you have a lovely Sunday!”
The photos showed Son Ye-jin enjoying her trip to Yokohama, Japan. In one picture, she sat on an amusement ride, raised both arms in the air, and smiled brightly. In another, she posed with a peace sign against a seaside backdrop, appearing to enjoy a relaxing getaway.
What particularly caught people’s attention was her laid-back travel fashion. She paired a black T-shirt with jeans and sunglasses in one look, while another outfit featured a gray sweatshirt, a voluminous white skirt, and sneakers, creating a comfortable yet distinctive style.
However, some netizens focused on the wrong thing. Comments criticizing Son Ye-jin’s appearance and fashion choices began to appear beneath the photos.
Some users left remarks such as, “Her fashion is terrible again today,” “She dresses like an ordinary middle-aged woman,” “If she has no fashion sense, she should let her stylist handle her casual outfits too,” and “She seems to know very little about fashion.”
This is not the first time Son Ye-jin’s fashion choices have come under scrutiny.
At the Golden Cinematography Awards in June, her dress and hairstyle prompted comments such as, “Her stylist must be her anti-fan.” In September, her casual fashion also became a topic of discussion after she shared everyday photos taken by her son.
This time, however, the criticism extended even to personal travel photos that had nothing to do with an official public appearance. While Son Ye-jin shared glimpses of her happy daily life with a bright smile, some netizens’ excessive judgments left a bitter impression.
Meanwhile, Son Ye-jin married fellow actor Hyun Bin in 2022, and the couple welcomed a son in November of the same year. She recently appeared before viewers in the Netflix series The Scandal.
