SEVENTEEN members DK and Vernon are preparing to begin their mandatory military service, with their agency PLEDIS Entertainment announcing their enlistment dates and plans.
According to the agency’s statement released on July 27, Vernon will begin his military service on August 20, while DK will enlist as an active-duty soldier in the Army on September 8, The Chosun reported.
Both members will continue taking part in SEVENTEEN’s official activities until their scheduled enlistment dates.
PLEDIS Entertainment asked fans not to visit the enlistment locations for both members. The agency explained that the ceremonies will also involve other enlistees and their families, and requested that fans respect their privacy during the process.
After starting their service, DK and Vernon will temporarily stop participating in SEVENTEEN’s group activities. However, the agency shared that the members have prepared content in advance so they can continue communicating with fans during their military service.
The agency said, “Although DK and VERNON will be unable to participate in SEVENTEEN’s schedules after starting their service, they will continue to connect with CARATs through various content prepared in advance.”

SEVENTEEN Remains Strong
DK, whose real name is Lee Seok-min, is one of SEVENTEEN’s main vocalists and has been an important part of the group since its debut in 2015. Known for his powerful voice and bright energy, he also leads the group’s special unit BSS alongside members Seungkwan and Hoshi.
Vernon, whose real name is Choi Hansol, is known for his rap skills and unique style within SEVENTEEN. According to Forbes, as a Korean-American artist, he has also gained attention for his multilingual abilities and has contributed to the group’s global appeal.
The enlistment news comes as SEVENTEEN continues a major period in their career. Since debuting in 2015, the 13-member group has become one of K-pop’s leading acts, achieving strong album sales and successful world tours. The group recently completed its large-scale New World Tour, which attracted fans across multiple cities.
DK and Vernon’s enlistments are part of SEVENTEEN’s ongoing military service timeline. Other members have already begun or completed their service, including Jeonghan, who was discharged in June 2026, becoming the first member to finish his military duty. Wonwoo, Hoshi, and Woozi are also part of the group’s current enlistment process.
Despite the temporary changes, SEVENTEEN recently confirmed their full-group contract renewal with PLEDIS Entertainment, showing their commitment to returning as a 13-member team after completing their individual obligations.
