On October 31, RESCENE attended the opening ceremony of the APEC Summit Venue Memorial Hall at Gyeongju Expo Park.
While performing “Runway,” Woni was spotted looking uncomfortable before suddenly rushing off the stage. The incident alarmed fans at the venue and online viewers alike. Concern grew even further because it happened just three days before the group’s scheduled comeback.
The other members quickly filled the gap left by Woni, demonstrating their professionalism. Minami and the rest of the group flawlessly covered her parts and continued the performance without interruption. Woni eventually returned to the stage and successfully completed the remainder of the show, earning warm applause from fans.
It was later revealed that Woni had left the stage because of a problem with her outfit. She had worn the same costume despite it shrinking during the washing process shortly before the performance.
While carrying out the intense choreography, Woni experienced difficulty breathing because the shrunken outfit had become too tight. Startled by the feeling that she could not breathe, she had no choice but to leave the stage immediately.
Afterward, Woni personally explained the frightening incident through the group’s fan communication platform, reassuring fans: “I was so startled because I couldn’t breathe during the performance due to my outfit shrinking after being washed.”
Meanwhile, RESCENE, the group Woni belongs to, is set to make a comeback on November 3 with its new album, PULSE.
