Rain revealed his strict parenting philosophy regarding his two daughters during his appearance on the SBS variety show “But Seriously!”.
In the episode aired on May 11, the singer-actor shared stories about family life and his dedication as a father.
“Family always comes first for me,” Rain explained. “Of course I attend my children’s school sports days.”

He went on to recall a humorous tug-of-war competition involving fellow celebrity parents, including Baek Ji Young and actor Jung Suk Won.
Rain joked that he and Jung Suk Won were determined to secure victory for their daughters.
“We told each other, ‘Our kids absolutely have to win today,’” he said with a laugh. “But once the game started, the other dads were like contestants from Physical: 100. Their teamwork was incredible.”
Despite struggling with coordination, Rain said he became so competitive that he wrapped the rope around his hands and pulled with his entire body.

“After we finally won, Jung Suk Won and I celebrated like crazy,” he recalled. “Meanwhile, our daughters were just casually eating snacks.”
Rain also spoke warmly about bringing his daughters to his concerts.
When asked whether his children know he is a famous singer, he replied, “I take them to my performances. While my body is still healthy and I can still stand on stage with my own two feet, I want them to see their dad performing. They really love it.”
The conversation then shifted to dating and parenting boundaries. Host Lee Sang Min asked Rain how he would react if his daughters introduced boyfriends in the future.

Rain answered firmly, “I’m very clear about that. Dating in middle school or high school is not allowed. They can bring someone once they become adults.”
He then jokingly claimed that he himself never dated during his school years — prompting laughter from everyone on set over what he called a “little white lie.”
Rain married actress Kim Tae Hee in 2017, and the couple are known as one of Korea’s most high-profile celebrity families.
